An LEV test, or Local Exhaust Ventilation test, assesses whether a ventilation system is working properly. The test ensures that the system is removing airborne contaminants like dust, fumes, and gases from the workplace.

- To protect employees from harmful exposure to airborne contaminants
- To comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations

- The law requires that LEV systems be tested at least once every 14 months
- The examiner should provide a report that shows whether the equipment meets the intended level of performance
