Lev Testing & Fume Extraction

An LEV test, or Local Exhaust Ventilation test, assesses whether a ventilation system is working properlyThe test ensures that the system is removing airborne contaminants like dust, fumes, and gases from the workplace.

Purpose
  • To protect employees from harmful exposure to airborne contaminants 
  • To comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 
  • How often it’s performed
    • The law requires that LEV systems be tested at least once every 14 months 
    • The examiner should provide a report that shows whether the equipment meets the intended level of performance
