Refund and Returns Policy — Weldserv UK Ltd
Last Updated: July 2026
At Weldserv UK Ltd (weldserv.co.uk), we strive to ensure that all our customers are completely satisfied with their purchases of welding machines, equipment, tools, and accessories. Because we cater to both business-to-business (B2B) engineering sectors and individual retail buyers, our returns process is structured to comply with UK consumer protection laws (Consumer Contracts Regulations) while outlining fair terms for commercial accounts.
1. Standard Returns (Unwanted Items – Consumer & Retail)
If you are purchasing as a consumer (acting outside your trade, business, or profession), you have the legal right to cancel your online order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Cancellation Period: You must notify us of your intention to return an item within 14 days of receiving your goods.
Return Window: Once you have notified us, you have an additional 14 days to return the goods to us.
Condition of Goods: Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in a re-saleable condition (including all manuals, cables, and accessories).
Return Shipping Costs: You are responsible for the direct cost of returning unwanted goods unless the item is faulty or was sent in error.
2. Business-to-Business (B2B) Purchases
For commercial and trade customers, orders are generally non-cancelable and non-returnable once dispatched, except in the case of manufacturing defects or items delivered in error.
If Weldserv UK Ltd agrees at its absolute discretion to accept a return of surplus or incorrectly ordered business stock, a restocking fee (typically up to 20% of the invoice value) may apply to cover handling and testing.
Goods must be returned carriage-paid and in pristine, unopened condition.
3. Faulty or Damaged Goods
We inspect all equipment before dispatch to ensure high standards. However, if your order arrives damaged or develops a fault, we are here to help.
Transit Damage: Any damage to packaging or items caused in transit must be reported to us in writing within 48 hours of delivery so we can claim against the courier.
Manufacturing Faults: If a machine or accessory develops a fault, it may be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty (e.g., ESAB, Lincoln Electric, Miller, Migatronic, Kemppi).
Repairs & Validation: As an approved and recognised service centre, faulty equipment can often be evaluated or repaired directly through our workshop or on-site by our specialist engineers. Please contact us before sending heavy machinery back.
4. Non-Returnable Items
For safety, hygiene, and technical reasons, certain items cannot be returned or refunded unless they are proven to be faulty upon arrival:
Custom-built, special-order, or specially configured welding machines.
Consumables that have been opened or used (e.g., welding wire, electrodes, contact tips, gas nozzles).
Safety gear that has been worn or unsealed (where hygiene/safety is a factor).
Services already fully performed, such as completed calibration/validation certificates, LEV testing, or on-site machine servicing labour.
